For those of you who have read blogs since the late 2000s, you know the veterans out there.  Monika Hibbs of Vancouver is one of those trailblazers many bloggers have followed since discovery.  She has a curated sense of style you just drool over, and it's easy to enjoy watching her picturesque adventures, most recently a trip to Vegas with her husband.  Her tasteful home decor DIYs and recommendations are my personal favorite piece of her strong brand.  I could definitely stare at her home tour all the livelong day!

It is not surprising she has been all over the press from Boston-local Style Me Pretty to HGTV to Glitter Guide, just to name a few.  Don't forget about Monika's shop, too, which we hope is replenishing soon before we start rolling out our gift guides in the coming weeks, it's definitely one of my go-to resources.  If Monika is what Vancouver is about, we better get there sooner than later!

Daily Read: Happily Grey

via

Nashville gal Mary Seng of Happily Grey is one who exhibits a natural ease.  Her style is simple and she is seriously a pro with showing an idyllic juxtaposition of high and low items into one photo shoot-worthy look, ironically, full of color!  Mary has grown her brand to new levels in such a short amount of time!  She can rock a cape, a tomboy baseball hat and the highest of heels like no other.  Happily Gray is sure to be the next blog you bookmark as your daily read!

Fall into Fringe

poncho // $148 vs. $42
booties // $188 vs. $150
lariat // $111 vs. $51
throw // $79 vs. $35
crossbody bag // $195 vs. $39

Maybe it's the foliage, or just the reminder that cooler temps mean layering, but fall tends to influence me to look at fringed items.  You have a statement from one simple addition to a piece and have automatic movement. Today we've rounded up items at both high and low to warm up your wardrobe and hubitat alike!  Comment or tweet us your favorite item(s)!

Daily Read: FashionABLE

I actually first discovered FashionABLE via Instagram. They have gorgeous photos of their products (scarves, blankets, and totes) and I was instantly into their look. After learning about the purpose behind FashionABLE it was hard to to fall in love with everything they do. All of their products are made from female artisans in Africa that are paid fairly for their work. By purchasing their products you are simultaneously empowering women and helping stabilize the global economy. Last year, I purchased their Tigist Clutch and couldn't be more happy with it.

Lately, I've also gotten really into their blog. Their blog has great content, including behind the scenes stories, look books, interviews with bloggers, and even features on celebs that love the brand (like Minka Kelly and Jimmy Fallon). They also post every day which is pretty incredible for a small e-commerce company (trust me, I know).

3 Ways to Wear Sweats at Work

How often do you wish you were on the couch in sweats watching a movie instead of sitting at your desk at work? This crosses my mind all too often at work, but the good news is this fall we can all take comfort (literally) in the fact that sweats are now a fashionable item.

Yes, you heard it. It is now acceptable to wear sweats in the workplace. Not all sweats, but dressy sweats, like a jeweled sweatshirt, a simple sweatshirt dress, or track sweat pants. All you have to do to make it "extra acceptable" is pair with fashionable sneaks, heels, leather items, or a statement accessory and you are good to go! Comfy and cozy at the desk equals one step closer to happiness on a daily basis, that's my new motto.

How do you dress comfortably but professionally at work? Share your tips with us via twitter (@JustUsGalsBos).

The Lace-Up: Love It or Hate It?

// inspiration //
L to R // black // nude // burgundy
R to L // taupe // navy // magenta // fog gray

You know when you see one (luxurious) item and everything else just falls to the wayside?  Well, that is what happened when I first saw this wish-list item of suede Aquazurra flats.  They're staying on the fantasy fashions pinboard, though.  And, as a somewhat heel-hater, because I am trying to add more heels to my shoe collection, I've rounded up much more budget-friendly options with mid-to-high heels, depending on your preference.

What do you think of the lace-up trend?  If you love it, would you need to have the heel or prefer the more literal translation of a ballet flat?  Let us know by commenting below, or via twitter // instagram!

Mini Daily Read: Free People Pinterest Boards

In case you've been stuck in the office all day, NEWSFLASH: fall is here. While it is hard to see summer go, its fun to look to pinterest as the seasons change and get inspired for the months to come. One of the most uplifting accounts the JUGs follow is Free People. We love their women in nature theme that borders bohemian, outdoorsy, and feminine. Their "crisp air" board is a great reminder that just because the temps are lower than 60, doesn't mean we need to shutter ourselves inside. All of their boards are perfectly curated with photos from other retailers and bloggers - we love that their boards aren't too sales-y. Free People are definitely some of Pinterest's best tastemakers!

That JCrew Gingham Shirt

There have been some ridiculous social media accounts out there in past years.  A few relate to features or "assets" of celebrities (e.g. this after Oscars 2012), others are notable TV characters. No matter what, they seem to be created by people with far too much time on their hands.  At any rate, let's be real and admit they can be entertaining.

The latest obscure social media account has to be @ThatJCrewGinghamShirt.  As a classic staple in a guy's wardrobe, particularly one in New England, we've all see this shirt.  It flatters most, it's lighter than flannel and is pretty much seasonless.  Now, it's wearers are being captured from all over and shared via instagram, because, I guess, why not?  Let's hope this ridiculousness continues!

Let's be honest, J.CREW is a resource for any gal, whether you have the preppy gene or not.  The company has taken new creative directions as of late, and after scoping out the latest summer catalog, I have my eyes on a few of these dainty gold treats.  Sourced above, these Maya Brenner, Jennifer Fisher, Catbird NYC and Mociun pieces are classic wardrobe inclusions for years to come.  Bravo, yet again, to J.CREW for these brand collaborations!

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Picks

left: vest // tank // capris // kicks
center: headphones // watch // brush set // crossbody
right: leather moto jacket // chambray // jeans // pumps // booties

Truth be told, I'm not blown away by this year's selection from the Anniversary sale at Nordstrom.  However, with a careful eye, you can find some staples to take you from summer to fall and day to night.  The main thing I do like about the sale is that former prices are posted so you can blatantly see your savings, which end August 4th!  Which item(s) are you thinking of picking up?

Summertime Sleepwear

paisley // striped set // navy chemise
lace trim // eyelet set // citrus slip

So, we're in July now, and it. is. hot.  Now is not the time for college t-shirts, sometimes that cotton is just still too hot.  Instead, try silky, light, fabrics that won't hurt that sunburn from earlier in the day, and are not too heavy when under the covers in an AC-induced slumber.

Which is your pick for the best summer sleepwear piece(s) in order to keep cool?

Daily Read: Tuula Vintage

No, Jessica Stein is not a model.  She is a mid-twenties beauty from Australia with a serious case of wanderlust and someone with the best. job. ever.  She left the real estate world in 2010 and started an online visual diary, easy to see why she has built a solid following over the past four years!

Jess travels the world for fashion shoots and documents everything for her blog, Tuula Vintage.  The title was chosen based on the word "wind" in Finnish, which describes her lifestyle as a traveling fashionista.  Her statement is made in designer pieces, and she keeps accessories to a minimum.  I love seeing the various cities and landscapes that she visits.

Tuula Vintage feeds my daily case of wanderlust!
